Eclipse!!!

Not the best picture, but you get the point! Me and my crazy Sisters in-law went to the double feature BEFORE the midnight showing of Eclipse! Can you say die hard fans? Also, not to mention the fact that we drove all the way down to Salt Lake a couple of years ago to meet Stephenie Meyer and have her sign our Twilight books AND our Host book? Yes, we are crazy, crazy in love with Twilight! It was my sister in-law, Beth's birthday so we went out to dinner before hand at Olive Garden and then to the theatre at 6:00 pm, watched Twilight and New Moon and then Eclipse at midnight! We didn't leave the theatre until after 2:00 am! I must admit towards the end we were all getting a little loopy, shall we say? Laughing at everything hysterically, it was a blast!! I love being a girl and I love being able to forget about reality for a while and forgetting all about my problems! Thanks girls, for the best night I have had in a long time:) FYI-we also went and saw Eclipse again this last week...........it's a little creepy ;)

The next day Owen's sister Robin and her younger kids came over while her older kids and husband went to Roaring Springs all day! We had fun at the park and we chatted and had a nice time! The kids played really well together and I really love Robin! I am lucky to have such great in-laws!

Evie has this thing with her blankets........she doesn't like to share, or for that matter let anyone else even TOUCH them! This is a picture of her guarding her beloved blanket from her cousin Macy, who is almost 2!
Trying to get a good shot of the two cute girls.............not happening
This is the best I could get! Macy looks cute and Evie looks a bit leery......hmmm. Evie is really lucky to have 4 cousins on each side that are her age! It was a fun day :)

Summer :)

Summer has begun! OK, OK, I know, it's actually the middle of the summer but I have been very unmotivated to blog so give me a break! Anyway, here is some pictures of our summer so far!

I bought this little car for Evie at a yard sale for 5 bucks!!! SHE LOVES IT! Every time she sees it she points her little finger at it! Best investment ever! This day we went to the park with my sister and her family. Her husband, Adam came over and helped Owen put some knobs on our kitchen cabinets. I got a whole Ziploc bag full of really pretty silver cabinet knobs at a garage sale at the beginning of the summer for 10 bucks! There was more than 30 knobs, I was pretty impressed with my self! I love a good garage sale!

We finally made it to the park and Evie LOVED the swing, well for a little while anyway!

Our first outing to the pool! This is Evie in her super cute swimsuit that I just had to get for her. She loves the little matching flip flops, wish I could say the same about the pool :(

So, the first experience at the pool didn't go so well. We went with my sister and sister's in-law and all of their kids. We were there for almost an hour and a half, and she never really warmed up to the idea. This is us after the mean mommy made Evie sit in the cold pool on a hot summer day :) Glad to report the next outing she was more impressed. I think it will take a couple more trips.

Birthday!

We went to Red Robin to get my free birthday burger and Evie found out that she loves ketchup and she loves to dip things in this messy red stuff! She loves to dip her food in things! The other morning I found her dipping her pancakes in her cottage cheese, yum?!

On my birthday me, Owen, my sister and our kids drove down to Jerome to visit my grandparents. My grandpa had knee replacement surgery and was in rehab for a while. The picture above was the same on the drive home :)

We went to Johnny Carino's in Twin Falls and had a nice birthday lunch!

We went over to the Twin Falls Temple and walked around. It is beautiful! Owen and I were fortunate enough to go to the open house a few years back, it really is a beautiful temple!

Here we are at the hospital with my grandpa! Glad to report he is at home now and doing as well as can be expected! It was such a lovely afternoon and I couldn't have asked for a better birthday! I feel so blessed to have such wonderful grandparents and wish I could see them more often!

Some beach..........somewhere..............

You were thinking this was why I haven't blogged in a while, right? WRONG! This post is not about us visiting some exotic beach! It's even BETTER! My siblings and I were busy planning a surprise 60th birthday party for my parents! And we pulled it off :) We started planning it back in March or April and I was put in charge, with my sisters, to take care of decorations! It was F-U-N! We were at the church all afternoon decorating and setting everything up. I was in charge of getting them to the church. Earlier in the week my sister in-law emailed everyone in the family that we were going to get together at the Broadway church to play basketball and celebrate hers and Reagan's birthday. They bought it! I stopped by their house at 5:45 pm and got them there just after 6:15 pm. My mom refused to go into the gym because she thought we were walking in on some body's event. It took persuasion to finally get her through the door! They were SHOCKED! So much fun :) The theme was beach party. Here are some pictures, and yes they are out of order! Enjoy!
My mom and dad got this walker and a cane as a joke present but the kids really enjoyed playing on it!
Birthday girl!

Birthday boy!
All of the grand kids except one, she wasn't interested in taking pictures at the time!
Everybody minus one son in-law! Yes, it is growing harder to get everybody in one place at one time to take one picture!
Miss Evie insisted on wearing this coconut bra! - So silly :)

Mom and Dad during the game show. We also had a 1950's trivia, which was very fun! Can you believe my mom had the original receipt of her hospital bill from when she was born and it cost $44.00 for everything? (My sister Angie did great on the trivia game)

Good turn out!
Mom and Dad!

Mom's family!

The ice cream sundae bar

Not a very good pic. but this was the stage where the DJ was. He played some fun 60's music and the banner says Happy 60th Birthday!

We gathered pictures of my mom and dad growing up and put them on a fishers net

My Mom's mom and my mom's brother and sister and sister in-law drove all the way down from Jerome to be there!

The game show of their life - very fun!

Setting up for the party! Allie, my niece helping out with the babies and the decorations - what a gem! Her sister Becca was also very helpful!

We decorated with beach towels, beach umbrellas, swim suites and beach balls!

Fun times and friends!

A couple of weekends ago my old boss from Chesbro Music in Rexburg came down to Boise for a coin show. He wanted to go out to dinner like old time, and it was fun! His niece, Gaylene met up with us as well! Texas Roadhouse fun! As you can see, Evie had had enough by this point! Going out to dinner is never the same after you have kids ;)

This is what Evie looked like after she woke up from the following position. I couldn't help it, she looked so funny!

Evie enjoys being outdoors, which I think will be so fun when it starts warming up! Here she is sitting at the backdoor, watching Owen grill.

She discovered fun when she found her empty diaper box! We sure love her crazy, cute personality :)

Quilt

I love going to Craft Warehouse and looking at all of the paper, frames, fun ideas, etc..you get the idea! Well, I ALWAYS end up looking at the fabric and drooling over them. However, I am ALWAYS forced back into the reality that I am not a crafty person. I repeat I. AM. NOT. a crafty person. There was this super cute bird fabric that I had spotted and I couldn't get it out of my head. I have always loved the look of the rag quilt and everyone said it was the easiest type of quilt to make. So with the help of my wonderful sister, Charity and her sewing machine and quilting skills I made my idea blossom!

I sewed most of the quilt myself! It wasn't too hard because all I had to do was sew a straight line. It worked out pretty well ;)
This picture was actually supposed to be at the top, but I put it in the wrong order, again! Anyway, this was the pattern we came up with after cutting out all of the squares.

The finished product! The back is pink flannel, which matches the pink on the front :)

I am no Martha Stewart, but I thought it turned out pretty good! What do ya think?!
