I took this picture a couple of weeks ago. My iphone, obviously doesn't do it justice, because it was much more beautiful in real life. I love sunsets and this one was no exception!!

Sticking around
These clouds one day were so unbelievably beautiful!!! I wanted to just stare at them all day long! I want Spring so badly!! I guess it is technically here. I'm wishing for warmer weather, however :)
Why did I post these pictures? Because I love nature and the beauty of our world! AND because I love living here in Boise. I LOVE it. Not just because I grew up here, but because I see what a great community it is to raise a family in. Low crime rate, bigger city, but not too big. Smaller city comparatively, but not too small. I just love it. Which is why we have chosen to stay here. Owen had a potential job offer in the Seattle area. He flew up there, met with all of the people and came home. I think it's safe to say that the job is ours if we want it. There are only a few things that keep us from taking it. You might say we are crazy, but we have moved before, not knowing the extent of what it is like to relocate. We were smarter this time and looked into the cost of living, etc. with that matched against the salary, it just wouldn't make it worth it. We prayed about it and we just both feel like, we made it back to Boise, somewhat miraculously, and if we want to stay here, we better just make it work. We are not jobless. Owen is working for a landscaping company as an applicator, and although it is not ideal, it is better than nothing. We don't mind living with my parents for the time being, and so we are going to wait it out. Believe me, it was hard to say "no" to the ONLY company that has wanted us in a year. Yes, in a couple of weeks it will mark a year from the time Owen was let go from his last job. If you would have told me then that it would be more than a year until my life settled down, I probably would have given up right then and there. I guess that's the reason we don't know how long our trials will last, what a daunting feeling that would be. My mom always tells me, "that's why you just have to take it a day at a time." And sometimes, that is exactly what we do. We have been extremely blessed to have such supportive family and friends to uplift us and help us along. You have no idea how nice it is to hear an encouraging comment or word. Truly, all I ever want to hear is, "something will come up, maybe tomorrow. You never know!" We have been blessed to be able to live with my parents, who love us and our little family. Zayne and Evie LOVE grandma and grandpa! Owen's job is a HUGE blessing! It allows me to stay at home with the children. The "sacrifice" monetarily is well worth it. Nobody loves your children as much as you do.
Right now there are a few possible jobs in the works. There is one that Owen had a phone screening with a week and a half ago. It is a huge company and it would be an incredible job!! If we got it, a lot of the things would fall into place and make perfect sense to me. Including why we had to move to Moses Lake for a short period of time. The job would cover that area, as well as the Treasure Valley. But, we have not heard back from them yet. I was pretty excited about this one. Probably the most excited of any of the jobs we have gone for. I was afraid I would be very disappointed if we didn't get it. And then one night I was thinking about it and I had been praying about it. I remembered a blessing that Owen had given me, and actually I had heard it several times in blessings I had received. It was that "Heavenly Father has a plan for your family; He wants you to be happy." It was then that I decided to let it go and trust in Heavenly Father. If this job doesn't work out, then another one will. He has a plan for our family. That is all I really need to know right now, no matter how hard it may be at times. I love this quote by Brad Wilcox that states:
"True faith is not just knowing God can, but knowing why sometimes He doesn't. True faith is not just believing that things can work out perfectly, but trusting when sometimes they don't. True faith is not just receiving your answer, but accepting His."
This sums up the whole last year, or even 5 years of our lives.
Sometimes I feel like God is not hearing my prayers. Sometimes I feel like I'm praying in vain. I'm human, it happens. I saw this quote the other day. It's not by an apostle or prophet, but it struck me as truer than true :)
"God is making things happen for you. Even when you don't see it, even when you can't see it, even if it's not evident... God is working on your prayers."
This quote reminds me of those times when my prayers have been answered or things have happened and I look back and realize why things happened they way they did. Heavenly Father IS always listening to my prayers and I know he will answer them in His time and in His way. There's a new week ahead, with maybe new things in our future. You just never know :)

Our Mr. man :)
Zayne is getting so big!! I never knew how you could have so much love for more than one child. I loved Evie so much, I was nervous I wouldn't have enough for the next. Weird? Yes. Normal? I hope so ;) our love for each of our kids just grows and grows. Owen and I would like to have a large family, and knowing how beautiful our kiddos are, it's hard not to want to!!! We make some pretty cute children :) biased, probably ;)
Zayne loves riding bikes outside!!! He uses Evie's trike for the time being. I forsee a fun boy one coming up for someone's 2nd birthday. Yes, that's right, it's almost been 2 years since we brought our sweet boy into the world. It almost seems impossible. Please make time stop!!
This little man was blessed with some beautiful eye lashes!!! Wish mine looked like this!
I told him to say cheese and this was the face I got! Little stinker!
That's better :)
He loves to wear his rainboots!
Funny, little guy :)
He used to LOVE taking showers, but lately he has been a little scared of the drain in there. Not sure why. The cover slips around and is not fully attached, so I think he gets nervous. I hope he gets over it, he used to spend lots of time playing in there!
His favorite book the last little while has been this George Washington book. He loves to read it before bed and likes to take it in his crib with him. Of all his books, the pictures seem to be less appealing than other books, but glad he likes it :)
Zayne loves the park. We usually take him down in the wagon because it takes him too long to wheel himself down there!
This kid loves to eat! And he really loves to eat sugar! He also doesn't like his hands to be dirty :)
He may like all things pink, including headbands, girl shoes, and even wearing my bra sometimes ;) but he is naturally drawn to boy things!! He found this play laser gun something or other while we were watching my nieces and nephew a couple of weeks ago. The two were inseparable! Maybe because it lit up and made really loud annoying sounds?!
My parents neighbor were in the process of getting a new drive way put in. It was really loud because they had to break up all of the old concrete and Zayne was pretty much obsessed with it. He was straining to watch them out my parents window! He had a perfect view from our bedroom window upstairs, which he would watch out of for very extended periods of time. Yep, all boy right here!
He loves playing on the little leap frog!
He frequently wears Evie's shoes around :)
And puts his own makeup on! Yikes!
He's getting better about saying cheese for pictures. Or at least trying to :)
This was before church one day. He loves nursery, and the teachers in there love him, at least that's what they tell me! Hahah!
He loves helping me cook, and LOVES licking the spatula!!
Haha! One day, at his cousins house, she and Evie rounded up all of the stuffed animals they were playing with and insisted that Zayne pose with them. Haha! Still makes me laugh. Zayne's face looks like, "really? REALLY?"
Zayne loves refried beans, which works out really well if we go to a Mexican restaurant, which is the case in the picture. The waitress LOVED him. She kept going on about how handsome he was. Yes, I am totally aware of this!! She wasn't a creeper, I promise!
Saying cheese and posing with daddy after daddy made his kite!
Um, cutest little man EVER!
Lately Zayne has been telling me that he has to go poo poo. So I decided to get Evie's old training potty out! Nothing has happened yet on it. I'm not seriously training him, it's just out so if he wants to he can sit on it. The other night he sat on it before he got in the shower. I was busy putting laundry away when I heard him trying to get my attention. I went over to him and saw that he had peed, but it went straight over the potty, onto the floor! Hahah! I'm not used to boys, so any suggestions would be helpful. How do I get it pointed into the potty? Idk. It will be a work in Progress :)
These two kids!!! We love them will all of our hearts!!
Zayne has a girlfriend ;) we hang out with our friends, Amy and Abe as often as we can, because we love them! And so do Zayne and Evie, as evidenced in the below picture! He kept going in for kisses, one after another! Should I be concerned? He's not even two and trying to put the moves on pretty girls that are more than 10 times his age!! Potential ladies man? Hahah!

Evie turns 5!!
Evie turned 5 today! She is growing so darn fast. I'm always telling her that she can't get any bigger!! But, alas, she is still growing like crazy. We started her birthday festivities off on Monday morning by baking her cupcakes for preschool on Tuesday. We have been set on rainbow cake and cupcakes for quite a while now; Like before Christmas ;)
Ready to fill the cup cake liners. This was before we did her hair for the day, I love her crazy mane!!
Found this little idea online! I thought they turned out pretty good!
So fun!
We picked Evie up from preschool and headed straight to Jerome to visit my grandparents for the day. We ate lunch, and visited. Grandma great did several puzzles with Evie and they colored. We had a nice time! Zayne was a good little boy.
Here Evie is this morning on her birthday. I decorated the house a little bit and wrapped her presents the night before. She loved it all!!! Grandma took her to a movie in the afternoon so that I could get her cake made! Rainbow it is!
These were all of the layers before I frosted it!
And the finished product! I used rainbow twizzlers for the rainbow and mini marshmallows for the clouds :) Evie loved the unicorn! I ordered it online as a cake topper, but it was way too heavy for the top, so I put it on the front instead. I think it turned out great!
Love my little, optimistic, 5 year old princess!
Zayne was very interested in Evie's presents. There were many tears shed as we kept him from ripping them all open!
First present opened; Frozen!!! She was super excited!
This girl LOVES books, and she loves the Pinkilicious books. She got 4 different ones :)
She has been wanting a seat belt pet since Christmas, but there was no way I was going to pay $20 bucks for one. I was at Target a month or so ago and found it on clearance for $4.99. Now that is more like it :)
Rainboots! This girl loves to jump in puddles :)
Grandma and grandpa got her a dream light. She has been wanting one of those for years! Good pick, Grandma :) she also got lots of clothes and a fun, my little pony from her cousin, Felicity :)
I had Evie go on a little treasure hunt for her last present. 6 little clues that led her to a scooter! She really had fun with the clues :)
And she loved the scooter!
After presents, we sang happy birthday and had cake and ice cream :)
It turned out beautifully, if I do say so myself!
I love our little family :)
She was so excited to go to bed tonight :) love you, Evie! We are so grateful that Heavenly Father sent you to our family! You bring so much joy and happiness to us :)
