Some of my favorite things..............

I can't believe Evie is going to be 1 in a few weeks! This year has gone by so fast, but we have definitely enjoyed her at each stage of her developmental progress! I have learned that Evie does things at her own pace. While many babies at her age have already been crawling for a few months by now, Miss Evie has barely started getting around! And now that she can, she LOVES it! I believe she is much happier now, because of her continuing independence!

Evie LOVES to eat! She doesn't seem to be a picky eater, let's hope that continues through out her child hood years!

When you don't think your kids are picking up on anything you are doing, or learning anything you are trying to teach them, they surprise you and do the cutest things! Miss Evie loves to clap and wave! She actually has been doing this since November or so and then back in January she started folding her arms all by herself! It is THE cutest thing ever! She loves to fold her arms when we pray over dinner and at family prayer! They really do watch what you do;) She also loves when mommy sings primary songs to her! Her favorite is "Popcorn Popping" She tries to do the hand motions with me.......she loves it!

I love this picture! I got her all warm to go on a run with me one day back in Jan. when it was rather cold out! She loves going for walks, runs or bike rides with mommy and daddy! I'm excited for spring so we can enjoy warmer weather for outside activities!
As we say goodbye to February, I welcome March thankfully into my life! I hope this next month brings us more happiness, good health, sunnier days and especially a good job for Owen!

Baby Shower

My good friend from high school had a baby shower a couple weekends ago and it was really fun to be able to get together and see her! I haven't seen her since my first semester at BYU-Idaho, which was about 6 years ago! Yikes, I feel old! Anyway, Owen watched Miss Evie for me and I was able to enjoy some pure girl time!
This is my friend Jana, she isn't the pregnant one, as you can tell! We were all good friends through out high school.

Me, Aubrey and Jana.
Thanks girls for such a nice time and for making me laugh harder than I have in a long time! I really needed a good laugh...................you know the saying "laughter is the best medicine." And Aubrey, you will make such a good little mommy!! Congrats :)

One of those days.................

Run down of Monday:

Babysat all day, wasn't too bad.
Come home, make dinner.
Owen leaves to hang out with his friend (about 5:30-6:00pm who lives in Kuna, because my two friends were coming over around 8 to watch The Bachelor with me.
I realize we need more milk so I want to hury to Fred Meyer and get back home to put Ev's to bed before company arrives.
I get to Fred Meyer (about 6:15pm). I ALWAYS put my keys in my pocket so as NOT to lock them inside of my car. THIS time I decide to lock the car and put them in my bag on the seat while I get Ev's out of her car seat. I pull Evie out of the car and the car door shuts, barely. Just enough to where I can NOT get it back open. I have now locked myself, and Evie out of the car. Luckily I had my cell phone in my pocket. Call Owen, who mind you, is ALREADY IN Kuna. He is quite patient with me and sadly enough, if it were vice versa, I wouldn't be pleasant (I know, I'm horrible).
I call Owen and he says he will be right there (well, however long it takes to drive to our house to get the spare key and then to the store) so I decide to browse the store for a while. I find myself in the kids clothes because all of their clearance is an additional 60% off. I'm minding my OWN business when this lady walks up to me and starts talking to me. This is fine, I'm generally a pretty nice person. She is talking about how gorgeous Evie is blah, blah, blah, I actually get this alot when I am out but she seemed to be really over doing it. Finally she asks me, basically if I would be interested in her PriMerica business. (Not really, I'm thinking, little does she know 2 people from my WARD have already harrassed me about it) Is there any way I could just be left alone. I felt stranded, I couldn't even run away if I wanted because my KEYS were LOCKED in my CAR! I was polite, told her I would think about it. I did see her later in the dairy section, staking out the area to claim her next victim. Pretty sure she was in the store purely for this reason.
Owen shows up, I drive home. I wanted to make some banana bread because I had some very ripe bananas that I didn't want to waste. My sister in law had given me a cook book from her ward this last week and I thought I would try out the Sour Cream Banana Bread recipe. I wanted to get it in the oven before I laid Evie down and before my friends came over. I start it and get to the point where I have added all of the ingredients but it just didn't look right. It was totally runny, liquid - something was missing. The flour. I looked over the recipe several times. Yep it said to add the flour in, but there was no amount, ANYWHERE! Seriously? I should just call it quits and go to bed! I googled a few recipes and guestimated 3 cups flour. It turned out alright. Just extremley annoyed is all.

Anyway, do you ever have days like that?

I said I'm a believer ya ya ya ya yaaa

I've been wanting to start couponing for quite a while now. I visit teach a lady who is awesome at it, and I decided I finally wanted to do it! Luckily my super cute friend, who is in my ward and happens to be my next door neighbor wanted to start as well. We started getting together on Monday nights, after Evie went to bed to watch The Bachelor. I know, I actually haven't ever admitted that to anyone, and it is kind of embarrassing, but it's actually not as horrible a show as it sounds. Anyway, back to the point, we decided to head to Wal Mart and get our binders, baseball card holders and a newspaper. After we got home we started clipping. We decided to try it out this last Tuesday. We just wanted to start out small to see if we could actually do it and be successful! Here are some pictures for your enjoyment!

Our couponing binders!

This is my loot........now given the fact that Alberston's was having their huge Quaker sale, I guess technically the 5 boxes of cereal and the 5 boxes of granola bars don't count because I didn't use any coupons on them, but for all of these items I paid $15.00! I know it isn't great, but I hope to become more proficient at this whole couponing thing and I am really excited to get into it more! While we were at the store there was a lady there with her coupon binder and she was ordering 80 boxes of granola bars for FREE! That's right, FREE! Everyone at the store was super friendly and very helpful!

This is a picture of my receipt! That's right, I saved $57.49! Each of my 21 items averaged out to be .75 cents each! I was pretty proud of myself!
Leslie Durfee- if you are reading this, Jessica and I would LOVE to help you get your binder figured out and come with us shopping!
I am now a believer in couponing! Can't wait to save tons of money from now on!

Happy Anniversary!

I watched my niece and nephew on our anniversary during the day and when I got home Owen had bought me a dozen red roses, how sweet! Then, we dropped off Miss Evie at my mom and dad's house and they watched her while we went to dinner at the Melting Pot! It was sooooo good! The fondue was absolutely amazing! The cheese fondue and the dessert fondue was my favorite. If we ever go again, we will probably skip the meat. I ate so much food I thought I was going to be sick, but it was worth it :) We had such a great night and I can't believe we have been married for 5 years, it has gone by so fast!
