Happy Halloween!

Evie decided a while back that she wanted to be a werewolf for Halloween this year. I was pretty excited because it was much more original than all of the princesses that every other little girl wanted to be! It actually worked out great because I had a bunch of fur left over from when Zayne was a werewolf last Halloween. Here she is howling :) despite changing her mind 3 or 4 times, she eventually became set on being a werewolf!

Next was Zayne's costume. I really wanted him to be a mummy or Frankenstein. I found some black slacks at DI and decided that he would be frankenstein! I had an orange shirt already and found this cute black blazer at a second hand kids store. I found a tutorial online about making a Frankenstein head out of a cut up milk jug and fake black fur.

And then there was my costume. I found an awesome dress at Savers for $4 bucks and that's when the creative juices started flowing. I was pretty excited to dress up as Carmen Miranda or more commonly known as the Chiquita banana lady :) I didn't have another cluster of grapes for my other ear in these pictures. I had to go back to the dollar store to get another strand. The grape earrings were Evie's idea, and I really think it made the whole costume!! FYI - the dollar store has LOTS of fake fruit if you ever need it ;) this headress had lots of hot glue put into it!

The weekend before Halloween my parents neighborhood had a fun little party set up for the kids!

The donut thing was my favorite to watch - Evie was hilarious!

They had a game where you use a broom to sweep a mini pumpkin through orange cones. It was harder than it sounds! The above picture is Evie wiping her brow and expressing how much hard work it was ;)

Zayne didn't try too hard - he just stood there looking ridiculously cute ;)

Later that night was our church Halloween party. Evie's cousins came for the trunk or treating. My dad in his Captain America costume!

My darling Frankenstein. I ditched the green face paint on Halloween because it was messy and Zayne basically scratched it all off by the end of this night.

Zayne loves Thomas, his cousin! They were good little buddies while trunk or treating :)

I wish I would have gotten a close up picture of Zayne - but this was the best one I got.

She is almost too pretty to be a werewolf ;)

We went to visit my dad at The Department of Ag. They had  a bunch of trick or treating at different peoples desks! The kids got half a pumpkin full :)

Halloween night! Owen doesn't dress up - maybe next year ;)

I live this one because you can see Evie's tail ;)

This was her pumpkin that she picked out from her Kindergarten pumpkin patch field trip!

My mom had a fishing pond set up for the younger kids. Zayne got these mustache stickers. He DID NOT like it, but it was so darn cute!

We had so much fun trick or treating. Zayne LOVED it! Heard I got MANY compliments on our costumes. One little old lady made us come into her house to show her other older company, that were having dinner, what we looked like! She gave us both King sized candy bars and Owen one as well because Zayne was so cute!! We did have a bit of a scare, though. I went back to the house and Owen still had Zayne in the wagon. I thought he was going to keep going. A little while later Owen came into the house and I asked where Zayne was. He said he dropped him off at the house a while ago. He was NO where to be found. I got my shoes on and bolted out of the house pretty freaked out. I looked down the street and saw his little square head running in the opposite direction, and on the opposite side of the street. I ran after him and he was going up to a house to get more candy. He had followed his other cousin, who is Evie's age. Not sure why she was down there or what happened, but very glad I found him so quickly! Who knows how far he would have gone :( we now have candy galore! It was a successful Halloween :)
