Fire Station Field Trip!

Evie's preschool class had a field trip to the Fire Department today. Boy, was she excited! She has known about it for a couple weeks and wouldn't stop talking about it! I love how little things (to adults) make children so happy! She was a talkative one! She had something to say about everything. She was just. so. excited. I had to tell her to practice using her ears to listen to what the Fireman were talking about! I'm glad I went with. It was fun to watch her enthusiasm for everything :)
I took this picture of Zayne half way through our "tour." His top tooth is way out! Where is the matching one?? :)

All of the parents loved Evie! She would smile all big when I took her picture and they thought she was the funniest thing when she had something to say...through the whole field trip!
 Cousin Lilly!

Zayne was pretty interested in Evie's new fireman hat :)

I took her to Chick -fil-a for lunch and she wore that hat almost all day long. When we walked up to the register Evie said she wanted a hamburger...I almost felt like she was speaking blasphemy. The guy had a thick southern accent and said "she's a riot!"  She was pretty excited when she saw the cow dressed up as a fireman, too :)
Our little fireman! I have two of the cutest kids in the world!!

We love our kiddos!

Evie loves preschool! We are really lucky that we found such a great teacher. She loves, loves, loves Miss Staci! Evie brought this home the other day in her back pack....

I have mentioned before that Evie is a really good eater, so this made me smile when I read it. She loves ALMOST all foods. We at least encourage her to try foods and if she truly doesn't like it, we don't make her eat it. A lot of times she is pleasantly surprised when she realizes she likes something :) Her new years resolution is so fitting for her!

She looked so cute this day before she left for preschool. She likes to pick her outfits out the night before and lays them all out and "matches it up." So cute! This particular day was a Wednesday. She usually goes Tuesday and Thursday, but was making up a day because she had been sick. On Wednesdays they stay a little later and have lunch together. So she was super excited to be able to do that. The night before she kept checking on her lunch in the refrigerator, and kept asking me, "mom, is my lunch going to freeze?" She was pretty concerned ;) When I picked her up from school, Miss Staci said that while they were eating lunch together, Evie said "THIS IS THE BEST WEDNESDAY EVER!"

We just love our little Miss Evie!

Owen's company had a booth at the Onion Show in Ontario, OR. He brought these cute boy and girl onions home for the kids. Their faces say it all :)
Zayne loves his daddy! You can't tell, but he IS smiling in this picture :)

Last week at preschool Evie was awarded a Kindness Ticket!!! Miss Staci said she was being a really good friend to everyone all day and was really great about sharing! Proud mommy :)

Never mind that my nose appears incredibly large in this picture ;) This was Zayne after his bath one night. He LOVES his bath and he LOVES bathing with his sister. They have fun just splashing and playing:)

We had a nice Valentines Day this year. I got these cute balloons for the kids. Zayne really enjoyed his! Evie got a cupcake one that you can see on the couch behind Zayne. She refused to get in a picture with hers....silly girl!

This was after Zayne started feeling better. He really likes Evie's princess chair :)
I watch my sister's little girl once a week. Her and Evie have lots of fun playing together:) This was last Friday when it was super nice out! Spring Fever!!! I can't WAIT until it starts warming up. Evie loves playing on the trampoline!

That sums it up...

I am a stay at home mom and I love it. Even though I am not on any kind of schedule, besides Evie's preschool twice a week, I feel like I am constantly busy from the moment I get up in the morning to the moment I go to bed. Most of my day is redundant. Wake up, feed everyone but myself, change diaper (s), assist on the potty, get everyone dressed but myself, squeeze in a work out while the kids play, feed everyone lunch - I'm lucky if I get a chance to eat for myself, nap for Zayne, grocery shop, clean up messes and then clean up more messes, get in the shower at some point and rush to get myself ready. Run any errands that need to be done. Think of something to make for dinner, clean up dinner, get the kids in the bath and ready for bed, wait for Zayne to wake up several times before I even go to bed myself..........maybe get time for myself after everyone finally falls asleep...probably my favorite time of the day. Then wake up and do it all over again......So I haven't blogged for a while because I have been busy....with life :)

I took some pictures back in January when it snowed really bad and stayed on the ground for a long time. Owen is such a good daddy. He came home from work one day with a snow shovel and a surprise for Evie. He is always bringing surprises home for her. She loves it! This time he brought her home a sled. Boy did she like it!!

We were watching Cousin Felicity that day and they had fun playing in the snow :)

This is how we have been changing diapers around here............Evie gets the arms and I get the legs. Zayne is a mover and a shaker and he does NOT like to lie still while I change his diaper. He also started crawling about a month ago and is an old pro ;) Can't say that I'm excited for all of this mobility.......but he's pretty cute so I guess it's alright :)

These next pictures are of our home. I am going to be helping my sister out with supervising the foreign exchange students that she is in charge of and so I had to send the company pictures of our house. I had gotten some requests a while back for pictures......so here you go :)
The living room, kitchen and dining room are all one big open space and I love it!

Excuse the somewhat messy kitchen. On a side note: I never use to have things hanging on our fridge. Part of the reason was because our old refrigerator was stainless steel and magnets don't stick on stainless steel. But I also swore I would never have "stuff" all over my fridge....and looking at this picture reminds me why I always thought that - until I had a 3 almost 4 year old in preschool, who makes the cutest things in the world and I LOVE looking at them everyday :) I guess as you grow older you begin to realize what is more important :)
 That is the front door.......
Zayne's room. I think I put a picture up of Evie's bed back when we first moved in.
The stair case leads to a bonus room. It is really nice to have. We have our elliptical up there and all of the toys.
I was really into decorating Evie's room before she was born. The second child......I didn't have the energy. BUT I had been wanting to decorate Zayne's room in old fashioned airplanes and I was at Target one day and they had these vinyl stickers on clearance for $5 bucks! Couldn't beat that...and I love the colors!

Poor little Zayne has been sick since last Thursday. He had a really high fever Friday through Monday.  I finally took him to the doctor Monday afternoon and she said he had a bad ear infection :( This picture was from tonight in the tub! He is finally feeling better after he has had a day and a half of antibiotics. I was sure glad to see that little smile again. I was getting nervous because he hadn't eaten hardly any solids and was refusing to nurse. It was pretty bad. Luckily my sister had a breast pump she let me use. I can't thank you enough, Charity! It saved my life! He's back at it again and his appetite for solids is slowly returning. Good thing he is such a chunk :)
This is a picture of our bedroom.........well, half of it. Owen helped me make the picture frames. I really like how they turned out. I'm working on getting vinyl that says "I love us" to put above the pictures. We have a nice sized master bathroom and closet, but I figured no one would want to see a picture of that :)
I am really looking forward to spring and day light savings time. I'm over winter!
