Little happenings

Just a bunch of pictures of we have been up to lately. Does anyone else feel like thier kids are constantly hungry?!

This picture above makes me laugh! We got home from church one Sunday and Evie was in the middle of changing out of her church clothes and got distracted by the ipad and then decided to sandwich herself in between two pillows! It just looks so funny!

At the end of April I got together for lunch with some of my best friends from high school. It was a nice reunion!

And she wanted her picture with the pants as well. What a funny girl :)

This girl loves the Pinkalicous books! She got four different ones for her birthday and since then she has been obsessed with making pink cupcakes! We finally made them one night and as she was eating it she asked me if she was turning pink yet ;) 

Got this girl a cute little swim suit and she demanded I take a picture of her. This girl lives the camera!

My kids absolutely LOVE cucumbers!

Evie found my gloves and came walking in the house one evening with them on her feet. These kids never cease to crack me up ;)

They have been doing construction off of the Broadway exit and Zayne freaks out every time we drive by it; which is quite frequently. I'm pretty sure it's his favorite part of the day :)

We have been frequenting the park a lot lately and Zayne is now able to climb this all by himself! He's growing in leaps and bounds. 

Evie LOVES the swings. In fact that is an understatement!

We celebrated Zayne's birthday with Owen's family this past Sunday. He was born on his cousin, Chase's birthday.

We found some ducks around the corner from my sisters house. The kids fed them some bread and enjoyed watching them.

I love this little man; so darn cute!

For family home evening this last week we planted some tomato plants for my mom. This kids and I all love tomatoes so we are very excited to see them grow!

This clamatis bush at my moms house is so gorgeous! I had to get thier picture in front of it!

Fun at cousin Felicity's house! We forgot a swimsuit the day it rained and I only had one diaper left in the car and so he wore his birthday suit for a while. I love his little bum!

Another favorite spot for the kids is the library! Here is daddy reading all of the books they checked out :)

Zayne turns 2!

We hit the festivities off for Zayne's birthday by having a little family party with my side of the family on Sunday. I made Zayne's favorite cake, Georgia Mud Fudge. Thank you, Angie, for bringing it into the family so many years ago! As evidenced below, the kids LOVED licking the bowl :)

We also took family pictures a few hours before the party. Separate post on that coming up soon! We got some really nice pictures :)

On Tuesday night Evie stayed up late to help me decorate for Zayne's birthday the next day! I don't know how this tradition started of decorating, but it's fun to make the kids feel extra special on thier special day. If we add another kid in the mix, this might become a past tradition! 

He was ONE happy boy! He LOVES trucks! I found all of these clearance construction party decorations at Zurchers. How could I possibly pass it up? 

I had a gift card for build a bear from the last time we went on Evie's birthday. So to kill some time we took Zayne and let him pick out a teddy bear! He had no idea what was going on. I love 2 year olds! Haha!

The bear ended up costing me $2 with my gift card. Not bad for a fun birthday outing :)

I decided to make a construction cake for Zayne. I think it turned out pretty cute!

He loved it and wanted to play with the toys immediately! I had to remove from his sight because he couldn't help himself. 

We went to our favorite new Chinese restaurant for dinner. My kids love this place! 

He was a little wound up! He hardly sat still the whole time we were there.

Finally! Present time! 

Evie got him a really nice fire truck from DI one day. It looked brand new and was only $1.50! Zayne has loved playing with it! Good pick, Evie! He got some other things as well. Grandma got him a huge CAT dump truck from Costco that he has been loving as well. Lots of shirts and a smaller dream light pet that he was very "awed" by at bed time this evening :)

We got him a trucks book that he has loved as well! I think Owen read it to him at least 5 times last night!

His big present was last. He was pretty excited for this and has loved riding it around outside. He can't reach the pedals yet but he loves scooting himself along :)

He finally got those trucks off of the cake! I don't think he even at a bit of cake, just played the whole time!

I also found a bag of bigger blocks/Legos at Target a while back on clearance that we gave him. Both him and Evie will spend lots of time building things :)

He had a great birthday! We love you, Zayne! We are so grateful that you were sent to our family! Happy 2nd Birthday, Buddy!

Wicked!

I had a girls night a couple of Weekends ago! Me, my mom, sister, sister in-law, her mother, and 2 of my nieces went to Wicked! It's the second time I've seen it and it is absolutely fantastic! I love the music and storyline! I couldn't help but laugh at one point during one of the many musical/dance numbers and then I leaned to my sister and said, "Owen would hate this!" We had a lot of fun :) we went to dinner before hand. It didn't start until 8, so it didn't end until 11. I was looking forward to going home and having the kids all put to bed....

And then I walked upstairs to find this:

Owen fast asleep and Evie wide awake waiting up for me while watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. What in the world?! And then Evie says to me, "mommy, daddy was snoring very loudly so you might want to sleep with me tonight." Haha! At least Zayne was in bed :)
