Chuck E Cheese's 3rd and final birthday celebration!

The last birthday celebration we had for Evie's first birthday was with Owen's side of the family that live close. We decided to meet at Chuck E Cheese. All of the kids weren't too sure at first, but they eventually decided that it was pretty fun! Evie sure is lucky to have so much love from both sides of the family! Happy Birthday Miss Evie, until next year ;)

This was Evie's first "ride" by the look on her face you can tell she isn't totally convinced! Her cousin Chase was loving it! It was a big monster truck that went up and down and all around!

Her expression reads " why am I sitting next to this huge, overgrown mouse?"

The Johnston clan!
Evie's other two cousins Trey and Keegan. They had finally warmed up to all of the fun rides!

First two birthday celebrations!

Here are pictures from Evie's multiple birthday celebrations! The pics aren't really in order, but it takes so long to upload them, that I didn't have the desire to go back and do it in order! Enjoy!

Evie and Felicity had a joint birthday party for my side of the family on the 21st of March. The girls had a lot of fun and got a lot of fun presents :)
Enjoying cake!

This is the quilt I made for her birthday! I'm going to do a separate blog entry on that.

Opening presents

Blowing out the candle! I made both her and Felicity these polk a dot cakes! I thought they turned out pretty cute!

I also made these little party hats for them. They didn't care for them. I think they looked like little gnomes!

This was on Evie's actual birthday! My mom and dad stopped by our house to give Evie this balloon. She was doing just fine and then my parents showed up and she wouldn't stop screaming. Later I find out that she is soooo scared of the balloon :( It was kind of funny! She never really warmed up to it. It's odd because she has seen balloons before and would always smile at them.

Birthday morning! I told you, these pictures are in no particular order!
This was the dinner we made on her birthday. Of course she couldn't eat any of the kabobs, but she could have the mashed potatoes and she LOVED them!

Happy Birthday Miss Evie!

"When they placed you in my arms, you slipped into my heart." I think this quote fits so well for this picture. Mommy and Evie first meet!

I never thought that a child could bring such joy to a family, but when Miss Evie came into our lives we felt it instantly! She has the sweetest spirit and fills our home with so much love! She has the cutest smile and laugh and such a laid back personality! We love you Evie and feel so blessed to have you in our lives! This past year has gone by too quickly and we have enjoyed every minute of it! Happy Birthday, we love you!

Bike Ride

This last Monday for Family Home Evening we took advantage of the Beeeutiful weather and went on a family bike ride!

Owen got me this bike last summer when he was in Montana for work. No sales tax. It was a Walmart special! It was cheap, but I am no bike expert so it works for me! I have always wanted a cruiser bike! I love it :)

Evie waiting to go! Yeah, I know you aren't supposed to put a child in a car seat in the bike trailer but don't judge me, I'm not a bad mom!

Party!

This past weekend I hosted a Cents of Style party at my house! The stylist over the party was my friend Kara, and boy, did we have fun!! My house was full of accessories including bags, belts, scarfs, jewlery and shoes! We had a pretty good turn out and I got some super cute stuff! If anybody is interested in hosting their own party, let me know and I'll hook you up :)

This is just a cute picture of Miss Evie's favorite toy at the moment! Grandma Ogden gave this to her for Christmas and she loves to move all over on it! Right now she only knows how to go backwards, I think she'll really have fun when she learns how to go forward ;)

A great find!

So for some reason, I can't upload my other pictures right now, so I will just go with these two for the time being!
I'm not gonna lie. I thought March was going to be some magical month, where everything would fall into place. Half way through the month, no such luck. Owen is having a hard time getting people to call him back about a possible job. I'm sure they are busy, but it probably isn't the best sign. Oh well, I have to have faith that the Lord knows what he's doing! The first couple of weeks this month Evie has been sick! She had, what the doctors thought, was RSV. She didn't need to go to the hospital or anything, but she had a super high fever and wouldn't drink hardly anything. This was the first time in her whole almost year of life that she had been really sick and it was really kind of scary! Her cough went away and then she got a double ear infection. She is now all cleared up and happy as a clam! Thank goodness! This is a picture of her the last time I remember seeing her happy before she got sick:(

I have been eyeing this picture of the temple at Deseret Book for a long time now, but it was so expensive, there was no way we could afford it, especially with out a job! However, one Monday night we went to Coldstone and there is a DB close to it. So I convinced Owen to go inside with me so I could show him this picture I wanted. We knew we were going to get a pretty good tax return and we were going to get a little spending money each. Well, anyway long story short, I got this for 50% off! A little bit of the finish came off of the picture when they opened it up, so they had to sell it for cheap! I was so excited! Right place, right time! (by the way, you can't even tell it is "damaged").
Although things haven't worked out for employment yet, we have continued to be blessed. It's almost like, just when you think the Lord has forgotten about you, something happens that reminds you that His hand is always in your life! Like I mentioned before, we were planning on a pretty good tax return, or so we thought, so you can imagine my disbelief when I checked my online bank account (mind you, how much I HATE looking at it) and there was almost quadruple the money we were expecting! So humbled to know that the Lord is watching over me and my family :)

TAG!

Stephanie tagged me in a blog post the other day! I have never been tagged before, so I am very excited to have something different to blog about.

This is Owen opening his presents from Evie and me on Christmas morning! I can't even remember what I got him! He always outgifts me! So even if I think I got him the PERFECT gift, he gives me a better one :) He's a good husband and I love him! He is also the best daddy in the world! He is so patient and loving to Miss Evie, most the time more patient than myself! I love you Owen, thanks for being the BEST!
