Weekenders!

Since moving to Moses Lake, WA I have realized that although we aren't necessarily close to a lot of things we are actually quite central to some cool places. Last weekend Owen had a meeting in Couer d' Alene, ID (which is about 130 miles away). Wives were invited to go and we had a great time. Our room was beautiful and we had a great view of the lake from our room.
The Couer d' Alene Resort was where they put us up for the night. They fed us a fancy dinner after his meetings on Friday night. I actually have a friend who lives up there and she is going to school. She is actually my bro in-law's sister and she offered to watch Miss Evie for us Friday night. She lives with her sister who has a little girl that is 4. Evie absolutely LOVED her! They had a blast :)

We went down town on Sat. and visited a shop called Fig Pickles Toy Store. It reminded me of that show "Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium" It was a pretty fun little store. It had this old carousel that you could ride. Miss Evie LOVED it. She kept saying "whee......whee" :) Not the best picture of either of us. The look on our faces are similar; like mother like daughter ;)
Out of the toy store Hadley and Evie made a run for it. Evie wanted to hold her hand and Hadley went for it! They were both just laughing and laughing! So cute :)

Evie was so tuckered out once we left. Poor thing couldn't keep her eyes open! It sure felt good to be back in Idaho for a while. Even if it was only a couple of days!

This weekend we decided to drive almost 100 miles to the NW and visit a town we had kept hearing about; Leavenworth http://www.leavenworth.org/modules/pages/index.php?pageid=1. It is this Bavarian Village. We got there just in time to eat lunch. We found a place that served pizza and bratwurst. Evie loved her hot dog, Owen liked his brat and I prob. wouldn't get the pizza again. After lunch we just walked down the main "village" street and checked out some of the shops. Apparently they are always having different festivals and different activities. I don't think there was too much going on this weekend, which was just fine with us. We decided to go before Owen got too busy with work.

It was really beautiful there. U can't tell very well from these pictures but there are mountains behind the village. They say it is really beautiful around Christmas when everything is covered in lights. It is kind of cool because the whole town is a Bavarian style. The grocery stores, banks even the McDonald's! They also perform the Sound of Music every summer, which I would love to attend :)

We stopped by the mall in Wenatchee on the way home and Evie had fun playing on the riding toys. She's got big dreams of becoming an Ice Cream truck driver ;)
We had such a fun weekend! I'm looking forward to my sister in -law and her kids coming to visit for spring break! Maybe we will hit up Seattle!
