It's gonna be a hot one!

Summer is officially here!! OK. So it's been summer for a while now ;) BUT, it's been super hot lately -we are talking in the hundreds, folks! Anyway. Here is a little update on our life this past week!
I love this picture!! Evie loves here mommy, but she also LOVES her daddy!! She must be starved for male attention lately because whenever "Pampa" comes home she is stuck to him like glue. Then when daddy gets home she does the same thing to him!! This past Saturday the boys were working on Uncle Aden's truck. You can bet she was right there with them!! She was loving it :)
She decided to pick out her own outfit.......yikes!! Some days she does really well, other days, not so much. As crazy as it seems she always wants to wear long sleeve shirts, even though I tell her it's too hot for them. I guess I should pack them away in her winter clothes, if I had a place for them. We are kind of limited on space for the time being.
We took advantage of free swimming at a close neighborhood pool courtesy of my sister in-law. Thanks, JO! We had lots of fun :) Evie loves Zayne. She told me,  "I want a picture with Zayme, Mommy." Then she hugged him like this! So cute!
Here he is sporting his Fourth of July swim suit, thanks again to Mary Jo!
Most of the cousins swimming and having fun!
Cousin Felicity. She has such a cute little smile!
It was pretty hot for this little guy. I nursed him while we were at the pool and he was sweating up a little storm! We had lots of fun at the pool and none of us suffered any sunburns! I just accept the fact that I am fair skinned and will never have a natural tan. I look at it as an investment into my future. While everyone else ends up looking older than they really are, I will hopefully look younger! I made sure Evie and myself were covered with sun block!!
This is Evie eating a marshmallow. She gets one every time she goes pee pee on the potty! I was hoping that would fade out once she got the hang of potty training. Nope! She still wants one every time. Pavlov's dog, anyone?!

Next week we are headed to Washington to visit our friends! Evie keeps talking about all  of her friends back there. We are super excited to see everyone!!!

Zayne's blessing day and the Fourth of July

We had the opportunity to bless Zayne on the 1st of July! Owen gave a very nice blessing and we were lucky to have lots of family support us that day.
Our little family :) I am aware that I look fat in this picture. In fact, I vowed this pic would not make the blog, but alas, it is here. It doesn't matter how many people tell you how good you look for just having a baby.....it doesn't help when you are transitioning from maternity clothes to pre pregnancy clothes.
I got a sweet smile for this one :) Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Johnston for the cute  blessing outfit!

All of the cousins had fun playing in the back yard. We had lunch at my parents after the blessing. The weather cooperated beautifully!! It wasn't too hot at all~!
Daddy and Zayne after church.
We had an excellent Fourth of July!! I love my two handsome men and my Miss Ev's :)

All of the cousins minus Ruby, Felicity and Archie.......
All of the 3 year old girls with their ear muffs  :)

It gets pretty messy around here on the fourth ;) But we have fun! We had a run in with the police which resulted in only a warning..........and a run in with a jerky neighbor...besides for that it was a very great day!!
Mr. Zayners................love his little face!! Cutest baby in the world!!!!

Happy Father's Day!

I couldn't have asked for a better father for my children :) He is the best daddy in world! Evie absolutely adores him and Zayne will too :)

My in-laws have a neighbor that has little piggies. So we went and looked at them. They were so cute!!

Evie loves cows and pigs and horses....except she was scared to get close to the horse so we didn't get a picture. She loves animals. It was fun to see her with them!
Looking at the little runt of the litter...he was so cute.

Zaynes two nephews were adoring him at one point :)
Zayne with big sister's sun glasses on! I can see where his future is headed.........poor little guy. Having a big sister will be lots of fun ;)
With Grandpa Johnston. I have been blessed with an awesome father in-law and father as well. I didn't get any pics with my dad because my camera had died shortly after this!
Love this little guy with all my heart :)

Family time :)

This last Monday for Family Home Evening we went bowling at Wahooz! Evie was getting obsessed with bowling with daddy. Any of you who know 3 year olds, know they generally don't let things go. We thought this would be a perfect activity for family time!!

She is such a funny little girl :)
She LOVED it!! Although, two games is a bit much for a 3 year old. She started to get tired half way through the second game.
She wouldn't stand still long enough for me to take her picture :) I loved her little bowling shoes. So cute!
I love being a mommy to these two cute kiddos!
Owen had to play a video game...Evie liked it at first. Until Owen turned on the movement....then she didn't like it as much!
Had to get Mr. Man in the picture :)
 He is so cute :)
Zayne's first bumbo experience (thanks, Annie, for the awesome gift!) Evie with her cousin, Felicity who is 10 days younger than her.

In other news - Evie is officially potty trained!!! YIPEE!!!!! She has gone several days in a row with NO accidents!! She has gone potty in several stores, something she would have freaked out about earlier. She always tells me she has to go!!! She is awesome!! I'm not proud to admit that potty training brought out the worst mother in me :( my sisters and mother can attest to that. I sure hope Zayne catches on faster than Evie did, when the time comes, a long ways away, thank goodness!! We are gearing up for Zaynes blessing on Sunday and the 4th of July!!

All is well :)

Everyone asks me if Zayne looks like Evie when she was a baby. You know, I really can't tell.....see for yourself. I think they look different!
This was Evie....she had huge eyes. She still has big eyes and they are beautiful! I don't remember how old she was in this pic...but I know she was older than this next pic of Zayne.
His eyes are not quite as big :)
This is the closest similarity I see between the two. This top pic is of Evie sleeping........bottom pic is of Zayne sleeping....once again - Evie was older in her pic than Zayne was in his. But I think they have the same mouth and possibly nose. See - No strikingly similar photos of my two babies. Maybe it's different because they are boy and girl? Not sure. Either way, they are the 2 cutest babies I have ever seen!! :)

I love this pic of Zayne. This was before we moved. He was only a week old :)
Here he is with Grandma Johnston! Some people complain about their mother in-law. But I can NOT complain! This woman is wonderful! She helped pack up the rest of my house after my parents left. She did most of the cleaning as well. She helped so much with the kids. We couldn't have moved with out her help!! She is a very selfless person and we are  very grateful for all she does for our family!
OK! Here is a picture of Zayne with his big eyes :) This is one of the first pictures I took with my new camera that Owen got me for my birthday!! I LOVE it and it takes great pictures! (Side note) I was spoiled for my birthday. I got a nice camera and a gift certificate for an hour long massage and a pedicure! Thanks, Owen. Love you!!
This was after church on Sunday. It's hard to find clothes for little boys for church!!
Evie loves to get in pictures with Zayne :)
On my other camera I have a picture of Evie with her 3 girl cousins that are her age, all dressed up in the princess dresses that Evie got for Christmas this past year. They have so much fun together! Sometimes, however, it ends up like the above picture - disagreements...I thought it was funny :)
Also on my other camera was pictures of Zayne meeting my grandparents for the first time. Oh, well. These pics  will have to wait until I find my camera cord!! But, this pic is of my Grandma Haberman with her twin sisters. Them and my grandpa came up on Tuesday for my mom's birthday so I got to snap a few shots with my new camera :)

We are so glad when daddy comes home!! Evie LOVES her daddy and usually doesn't leave his side once he gets home! He's been working so hard and has had some long and hard days, but he is really enjoying his job!
This was our first outing to the pool for the summer! I LOVE Zayne's little swim shirt and hat! I got them both at the Gymboree outlet for 10 bucks!! Not bad :)
Evie was a little hesitant at first, but decided she liked the water after all! She never got confident enough to go down the slide, maybe by the end of the summer! Here she is with Cousin Reagan.
 He is so sweet :)
Having fun with Cousin Lilly :) Cousin Becca is in the background! I'm so lucky to have so many great nieces and nephews. Becca helped Evie the whole time at the pool and her and my other nieces and my Sister in law helped hold Zayne. We are sure spoiled to be so close to family!

Having two kids has definitely been an adjustment. BUT, I think I lucked out because Evie is such a good natured little girl. She loves Zayne! She doesn't ask to hold him much, but doesn't try to hurt him or acts jealous of him. She had some regression with potty training...not sure if  it was the baby being born, the moving....the whole uprooting of her little life (I shouldn't have been surprised, but I was) Anyway, she is doing much better now!! I'm tired, as any new mommy can attest to. It's a lot of work to move. Especially out of state. Because I had a WA drivers license, I have to take the written test to get my Idaho one back........not to mention changing all addresses on any accounts we have. Changing insurance......finding temporary insurance until Owen's starts up through work....it's been very stressful and tiring. We are making it, though! It's been helpful living at my parents - they are soooo helpful with Evie and Zayne!! I consider it a huge blessing, although we will be happy to have our own space when the time is right :) I have mine and Zayne's six week appt. coming up on Monday and I can't wait to be able to hit the gym again. I will miss my work out buddies when I go back, but maybe I can talk Owen into replacing them :)
